This might work for a short time
Have you noticed grocery prices going up? I’d bet you have. Many things contribute: inflation, bad weather, transportation costs, labor costs, and more. I doubt anything will change; I’d expect prices to keep rising.
One thing I do already is try to shop around for the best prices. That isn’t easy for a number of reasons. Prices fluctuate, so I need current information. As most stores offer home delivery or pick-up orders, I can get prices on-line, but that’s very time consuming.
Then there is the matter of distance. If a store ten miles away has a gallon of milk cheaper than another store only three miles away, is it worth going to buy the cheaper milk? It might be, but it’s hellishly complicated to figure out because I’d need to look at everything I want to buy. It’s possible that buying everything at one store might work out to be less expensive because of the expense of traveling to another store for some cheaper items.
But maybe one of the stores is along the route to the other. I’d need to take that into account. It truly gets to be far too much work.
Maybe an app could help. Suppose I had an app where I could feed in my shopping list for today and pick a few local stores. The app could look up…
