As a one man Unix support person working directly with clients (no contract gigs), I had to be both.

And the PR person, advertising man, website designer, tech writer, bookkeeper, tax preparer, scheduler, and janitor.

I was damn good at all of it for 35 years. And when I retired, I worked as a salesperson at a busy Apple Store for four+ years and was a top performer there as well.
