Because of a divorce, my wife's father had her name changed when she was still a baby. That caused us no trouble until we needed to get her a Real ID. We couldn't, because they need documents that are very inconvenient to obtain. We have given up for now. Maybe we'll be lucky enough to die before we actually need that Real ID.
