Boosting is just another attempt at fixing curation and is just as problematical. I’ve had one story boosted so far and, just as it often was with curation, I don’t think that story was particularly deserving — and the sixty dollars or so that came after the boost is evidence of that. That story shouldn’t have been promoted/

I’d rather it were like the Featured thing; that, at least, I could and did refuse in a similar case of a very unworthy article being selected.

And of course I’ve wriiten things that I think ARE worthy that sometimes weren’t even curated :)

The intent is pure, but Boosting and any sort of Featuring or curation will always be error prone. It’s unavoidable. Humans have bias.
