But later you note: “Medium’s payment system has been more evenly spread among different writers, so newer writers earn more, while established writers earn less.”

Those things seem to contradict each other. One would think (wrongly, I believe) that the most popular writers would be more likely to be Boosted.

I never liked Dr Mehmet Yiditz or his publications. I’m happy to see him gone. He and others like him gained their power through follow-for-follow and never should have been allowed to do so.

That said, yes, boosting only benefits a few and the window seems to be narrowing. I think that’s deliberate and is because Medium is trying to become more elite, more of a place for high quality rather than what is enjoyable for the masses.

I think they always wanted that — that’s why they brought in so many big names like Obama in the beginning. I bet popular writers like Hogan Torah give them angina 😊

I’m not overjoyed with the Boost program. Still, it is what it is, and I will continue to try to help my pubs writers get that blessing. And I’ll keep writing here myself because places like Substack are disgusting and places like HubPages are choked with obnoxious ads.

Let Mehmet and the other whiners go. I won’t miss any of them.
