Creating Real IOS Apps From Your iPad

This new ability seems to have been mostly unnoticed

In some recent update, Apple quietly added the ability to create real apps directly from an iPad. Yes, really: the fine print in the picture above offers to “Submit your app to TestFlight or the App Store from App Store Connect.”

So it is real, even though I did not notice its arrival l until I stumbled upon this YouTube video.

App Development

I have been waiting semi-anxiously for this. Having failed miserably at subduing Xcode, I perhaps foolishly hoped iPad app development might be easier.

There are good reasons for me to think that. This is part of Swift Playgrounds, which is a very kid friendly “learning to code” app. I do not need the basics that provides; although I am by no means expert, I have done enough Perl and other coding to be comfortable with the bones of Swift and programming in general.
