Do you really think we feel secure? By working until I was 72, I managed to put aside some money, but my wife became disabled and could not work after 52, so it’s a lot less than we hoped for. Her disability from SS is what we spend on food, so that’s not much. The disability insurance she had at work screwed her over, so nothing from that. I can’t work any longer because her condition has worsened and she needs me to help her.

Yes, we are better off than many because I worked longer. I also made some good investments, but who knows what the markets might do? And can we count on SS?

I don’t see any nets, Jessica. Not for you and not for any of us.
