Does Anyone Ever Read Before They Comment?

The questions continued until 2014. Six years of people who had read nothing beyond the title and asked questions I could not answer.

A few days ago I posted a simple question at my NextDoor group.

“Is there a Food Bank nearby? We have some things we’d like to drop off.”

Actually, that’s not true. First I posted this:

“Is there a good bank nearby? We have some things we’d like to drop off.”

That post caused a bit of confusion, including some private messages from concerned friends and from some unconcerned friends who said I could drop off any extra cash at their house any time I liked.

I had to delete that post and repost my intended question. I made sure to add the capitalization to forestall anyone thinking it was the earlier bumble. A few minutes passed and I had a response. It was a helpful and complete answer.

The major food bank in town is the Sacred Heart Food Bank run by the local Society of St. Vincent de Paul at the church uptown. They don’t discriminate on who gets service because of religion, lack thereof or anything else. Check http://www.svdpmiddleboro.org/ for hours.
