Fifteen years ago, our younger daughter told me I had to buy my wife an iPhone. I told her I wanted to, but she refused to give up her flip phone.

My daughter replied that her mother was frequently calling her for directions and that I MUST do this, so I did.

When I gave it to her, she immediately said, “Take it back!”.

My reply was short: “Kate says you have to have this.”

Then I explained why and that was the end of that.

I taught her how to use Apple Pay and she fell in love. Later I gave her an Apple Watch. Again , “Take it back!”. I showed her Apple Pay on the watch and she fell in love again.
