Five Thoughts About Getting Boosted

I bet you’ve read Medium’s Quality Guidelines: How real humans review stories for Boost. So have I, but I had not really thought deeply about them until yesterday when I had the chance to watch a training session for new Boost Nominators.

Here are the guidelines if you have not read them.

If you are hoping to write boostable stories and have read that, you know that Medium curators (the folks who ultimately decide to boost your story or not) look for a number of factors that a story should meet.

There are just five main targets. You don’t need to meet all of them, but it should be obvious that you want to hit as many as you can.

Emotion

“Stories selected for Boost might elicit emotions like laughter, tears, excitement, wonder, and more.” (Medium Quality Guidelines)
