For us, the junk left around the recycling bin (it’s mixed, not separated) just drives me insane because RECYCLING IS ENTIRELY VOLUNTARY HERE. They could just throw it in their trash if they are too lazy to put it in the bin, but they leave it on the ground. And much of it should have gone to trash because it’s not acceptable to the recycler.

But the biggest problem is not people, it’s packaging. I try to buy whatever I can in the most bulk form possible to avoid plastic. I make our yogurt now, and bake muffins and healthy breads, but we still have more damn plastic than I’d like.
