Google’s ChatGPT Rival Could Be Dangerous in Many Ways

Dangerous for them, for starters

Google has decided to go ahead with releasing its ChatGPT project. This is the one that caused a kerfuffle a little while back when one of its trainers insisted it had become sentient. According to a lot of breathless press I have seen and heard, Google’s baby will “blow the socks off ChatGPT.”

If so, Microsoft and a few other big money investors will be sad, but nobody knows what nobody knows until they know, you know?

But let’s say the scuttlebutt is accurate (is it ever?)

I mean, Google certainly has a grand reputation for putting out stuff that a lot of us think is great, but for whatever reason it doesn’t grow as quickly as the bosses wanted, or the general public yawns, and next thing you know, Shiny New Disruptive Thingy has been canned.

But let’s assume none of that happens, ‘kay? Google’s SNDP turns out to be a ripped monster who eats up ChatGPT and all its cousins for breakfast.

What could that mean? Most of the chatter I absorbed said it could hurt Google’s ad business.

Yeah, that makes sense
