Grammar, like everything else about language, is constantly changing. An old fart like me loses tooth enamel over some of the constructions that are gaining acceptance today, but nevertheless, the times they are a-changing. Our words and how we glue them together bend and warp in the currents of that change. Were that untrue, we’d still be writing in Proto-Indo-European.
