I have read and listened to a lot of ill-informed gibberish about Apple killing the Dark Sky weather app. I was about to write up a fist-shaking post about how wrong so much of the reporting has been when I happened upon Bart Busschots talking about it on the NosillaCast podcast. He did a bang-up job of ‘splaining it!

If you don’t want to do that, here’s the TL;DR version mixed with my own feelings.

Dark Sky is far from dead

Yes, the app is gone. Apple bought Dark Sky a year or so back, announced that they’d be removing the app, and as of a few days ago, it’s gone.

And yes, it’s gone from Android too, so I guess it’s dead to you if you use Android.
