I also came from a Republican voting family, although leaning more liberal. My first opportunity to vote was for Jimmy Carter. I did not vote for Reagan or Bush and their terms marked the beginning of my dislike for the GOP.

I'm not anti-conservative. Sometimes tradition has value. But today I find it impossible to have any conversation with anyone supporting the GOP. Our country is in peril and it's they who are the enemy.
