I am excited by this, but I’ll wait at least for version two. I won’t be uograding my iPhone 11 this year as 5G doesn’t offer enough yet. I expect that by the time the glasses are good, 5G will be much better and this will truly be a useful too.
As for the cost, I think I paid $350 for my last pair and my insurance gives me $200 back, so no biggee.
