I assume that Medium works in a similar manner. I’ve only been here a very short time. One of my stories was almost immediately curated, several have been almost instantly rejected and the rest have sat in the “Hang tight” mode day after day.

I’m not sure that I really care about curation. I write for my own enjoyment and while money is nice, it has never been very important to me. On the other hand, I’m retired now, so a little extra money would find use. I should then logically give more care to the opening paragraphs. I should look carefully at the story that was quickly curated and compare it to very similar rejections in an effort to see why that happened.

But I just don’t care enough yet. I have made some small concessions; I’m a pretty decent spellerator :) so I have been sloppy about checking for that. I’m more attentive now.

But I do not like most of the carping that Grammarly does. I’m certainly not willing to pay that monthly fee for something I disagree with so often. I’ve used the free Hemingwayapp.com and while I disagree with that just as often, theirs is free.

Anyway, thanks for this. Good job.
