I devote at least part of every day to reading other writers here to find new people to follow.

Paragraph density can cause immediate rejection. If I cannot even see the end of the paragraph on my iPad, I’m not going to read another word that person writes. It doesn’t matter how beautiful their thoughts are, I will not read it.

But it works the other way too. If it seems like every sentence is its own paragraph, I’m also unhappy. I do not enjoy wading through a lake of white space to read a story. White space, carefully used, can be powerful, but can kill the deal for me when abused.
