I do understand why My Octopus Teacher might upset some people. Yes, it should have been more octopus and less introspection.

It won an Oscar? Well, that means nothing at all to me and shouldn’t to anyone else. Who cares what anyone else thinks is worthy of acclaim? I liked Ted Lasso and I like Mythic Quest and Shameless and a dozen other things other people are free to love or hate. Does an Oscar or lack thereof make me like anything more or less? Nope.
