I don’t have enough time left in my life to put up with books I “should” read. I’ll give anything that isn’t romance fiction a chance, but it’s only a chance.
This week three holds came through at once at my library. I picked them up yesterday and read the first. It was Muscle : the gripping story of strength and movement. It was interesting and well written, so I read half of it then.
The next was What's gotten into you : the story of your body's atoms, from the big bang through last night's dinner. I’m sure it is also very good and worth reading, but I took an instant dislike to the author’s writing style, so it went directly to my TBR—To Be Returned.
Finally was The most of S. J. Perelman, a humor writer I read and enjoyed in my youth. I wanted to see how it stood up today. It didn’t, and the typeface was far too small, so instant TBR.
I’ll finish Muscle today or tomorrow. Life is too short and I have way too many other books I want to try.
