I save it in iCloud. I disagree that it’s expensive. Yes, it costs more than Google but it is seamlessly tied in to every apple app and many third party apps. You don’t get that with Google and you don’t get the privacy.

The files you get include the html from all your stories. You can convert them to pdf’s and online printing services can print them, though I see no reason to.
