I have been an omnivorous reader all of my life. Almost everything interests me and those little bits of knowledge that seemed so unrelated have sometimes turned out to have helped me solve knotty problems. As I made my living as a problem solver, I never felt disdain toward trivial knowledge.

I think the problem is that specialists today have so much to absorb that they cannot find time for the extraneous.
