I have thought about that—and written about it recently.

Google search is already giving AI answers to some questions but many of us are abandoning it in favor of chatbots. Maybe Google feels the integrated model, giving both AI and traditional; links, will let it retain its advertising business.

But.. I notice that ChastGPT 4 has started giving links for some questions without being asked.

As for ChatBuddySiri, yes, of course, but despite Apple’s guarantees of privacy, I bet some will not like that at all.
