I hope you might consider another change. I see no point in the rule that a story can only be in one publication. I do think that relaxing that rule would have benefits for all of us,
I want all my stories in my own pubs. Using my own pubs lets me keep like articles together. But if I wanted to put them elsewhere, I lose that.
Aside from that, sometimes I’d like to put one of my posts in more than one of my own pubs. Why not? Where’s the harm?
Imagine if thirty pubs agreed to take your post. Wouldn’t that increase visibility? Wouldn’t that multiple acceptance help Medium decide if the story was worth distributing more widely or Boosting? In fact, that could be a trigger for considering Boosting and eliminate the need for pub recommendations.
Seems very democratic to me.
I suppose some pubs might object, wanting to cling to exclusivity. You could allow them a setting that would enforce that — should be easy enough, as that’s the default now.
I’m also putting this suggestion in your Help channel.
