I live in an over 55 community. We have a multifunction clubhouse that has been closed since this all started.

Some of the residents here are clamoring for it to be opened, justifying it by the true fact that cases have stabilized in our state. But they ignore the other fact, which is that cases stabilized because most people in our state are compliant: they wear masks and avoid crowds whenever possible and limit exposure time when it is not.

It’s ridiculous. We are a vulnerable demographic. Most of us would still avoid the clubhouse if it were opened, but those who would not will possibly have contact with us and others in the greater community, while shopping, etc. They cannot see their own selfishness.
