I probably wouldn't have reacted as quickly as I did had I not been working a part-time retail job.

I had been thinking about leaving that job anyway, but the news of a nasty virus made me very leery of shaking hands with customers and just being near them. So I gave notice and left February 28th. I was already "retired", so it was an easy decision. And then the news got steadily worse.
