One thing I said in that aricle I will repeat here:
Is it worth paying for? I would tell customers that it depends upon your own tolerance. I personally do not buy it on products where replacing the product outside of its native warranty would not upset me.
I did not purchase it for my wife’s $329 iPad because that is a minor expense for me. I did buy it monthly for her iPhone 11 Pro because she will keep that for many years and for my M1 MacBook Air because three years of coverage including accidents makes that a more attractive proposition.
Only you can decide, but if you are on a very tight budget, I’d say you should buy it. There’s truth in this:
If you cannot afford to buy AppleCare+, you probably should.
