I take a less friendly path.

Drop a link in my comments without my permission, I’ll very likely block that person. Not absolutely, but the odds are strongly in favor.

If I really, really thought I had a post very relevant to this conversation (I do not, by the way), I’d say something like “I wrote about this earlier this year and took a much harder stance than you have here” and then I might go on to list some of the major points I had made.

Then, if you said “Could you link to that?”, I would.

Otherwise, no. It’s rude, no matter how relevant.

I think I might have dropped a link or two when I intended to be rude and was about to block the author for spouting ignorant nonsense.
