I think eventually we will. The Duolingo podcasts are great for practice and have helped me. Often now when some Spanish is interjected in a TV show I know what they meant even without really catching the words. Like last night someone blurted "cabrónes son ustedes" because other people were teasing him and I laughed because my subconscious knew what he meant before I puzzled it out.

Context helps. Even in English people will slur words or something else interferes but you get it because of context and you caught enough words. That's *starting* to happen in Spanish with me now.
