I think Medium should create a sister site which has advertising and requires no fee to join. We’d have the option of allowing our distributed posts to be mirrored there.

Or just do it the simple way: ad free costs $5 a month (though it should be more). Nobody rides free, including authors. If Medium doesn’t want to insult “important” authors, Medium should pay for their subscription from their profits.
