I think you may be right about that. It’s even partially true for me: I retired from a part time retail job I had taken after closing my business. While I would have retired soon anyway, the pandemic certainly hastened that decision.

When I pulled that trigger, I was feeling pretty good about money. I was not wealthy, but I had enough to be comfortable for longer than statistics say I should live. But then the markets crashed and while I’m not truly needing money, I have made dribbles of it from writing over many decades, so yeah, you could say that was a part of why I’m here now.

As you are, I’m sure things will recover. If they do not, we are all in a gigantic mess and money isn’t going to help much.
