I wasn't a PC guy, I was a Unix guy. I got interested in buying Macs when they switched to Intel.

But just a little before that, I walked by the new Apple store in Chestnut Hill MA. The place was jammed with people buying iPods. I had run into Macs at my Unix customers, but I never thought of them as an investment until then.

I do not remember the year, but the price was about $20.00 and I bought 50 shares. I sold those years later, but also bought more. I have 600 shares now, at an average cost (adjusted for splits) of $33 and change.

I also bought Netflix, Google, Microsoft and Amazon early on. Never a lot of any, have sold some here and there, but I cannot complain.
