Illegal mmigration is a thorny problem. I’m not sure there is any solution, though perhaps allowing businesses to legally employ these people and strongly punishing those who pay “under the table” might help.

The immigrants would have a new legal status reflecting that they are legally employed but not citizens. I’m sure the Red states would want to add many other restrictions.

That would drive up costs and cause wide price inflation, but that inflation would level off by itself.
