I’m a 4:00 am writer.

I developed the habit because years back my customers called me all day long. Literally. Before 9:00 am I sent them to voice mail. If I got up at 4:00, I’d have 4 hours of uninterrupted time.

It was wonderful. I’ve never lost the habit.
