In fact, they can be, though not usually the fault of the home, but rather from sloppy work by the on-site installers.

I live in an over-55 community of manufactured homes. Each home was shipped here in two or more parts and assembled by local workers. While the home I bought is properly installed, that has not been the case throughout the community and improper procedures have caused serious problems for some homeowners.

If you do buy a manufactured home, make sure that you hire experienced contractors for the installation and verify that with a qualified inspector after it is assembled.
