In the last few months I have developed BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) symptoms. Even though I do not drink alcohol, have only a single cup of coffee after breakfast, and stop all food and liquid five hours before bed, Iโ€™m up to pee three to four times a night.

Fortunately, I fall back asleep quickly, but this is still unsettling and could mean prostate cancer.

Iโ€™m seeing a urologist next week. My PSA was low when last checked a year ago, but obviously something is amiss. My father died because he ignored symptoms too long; I will not make that mistake. Men need to be aware that these symptoms can be deadly serious. Donโ€™t assume that BPH symptoms are always benign.
