Is it Medium or readers?

I stopped reading fiction some time ago. There is too much reality I want to learn about and I have so little time left to live.

We are an aging population. Perhaps many feel as I do. Perhaps many are very concerned about politics and are doom scrolling that and ignoring fiction. Older people may be more interested in health or are worrying about their finances.

Maybe some of that explains it?
