It has been both exciting and frustrating for me to observe the progress we have made in learning the causes of senescence. It seems that we are close to eliminating aging as we know it, extending lifespans, and perhaps even conquering natural death.

The frustration is that I am unlikely to see it. I am 72 years old. I can peer into the future and see this coming, but I think it is too far away for me.
