It’s dumb because they WANT TV+ customers but they do not make it easy.

Many people who own no Apple devices and never will own any would enjoy TV+.

Apple could give them a very simple form:

Your email or existing Apple ID:

Apple ID password or make one up now:

Payment subscription method or Apple Gift card number.

Done and dusted.
