I've always felt prayers are utterly ridiculous. I happen to be an atheist, but even if I were not:

God is supposed to be all knowing. Supposedly he already knows your thoughts, so why pray?

Why does this omniscient creature need any input from you anyway? Is he forgetful? Does he not understand the importance of whatever you are praying for?

Does he not already know Timmy has been shot by a crazed teenager? Do you think your opinions will change his?

It's nonsense even if you are a believer.
