I’ve been doing this for a while now and updating older posts as I get to it.
I use ChatGPT to help me. For example, it has this to say in response to my “Alt-text for this photo” plea:
“The image depicts a key inserted into a keyhole, with the keyhole being on the left and the key on the right. The scene is presented in a monochromatic color scheme, primarily in shades of gray. The keyhole appears to be floating or wall-mounted, with a visible shadow cast on the surface below, suggesting the keyhole is elevated. The key is shown in mid-turn, as indicated by the dynamic position of the key's handle and the shadow it casts, which creates a sense of motion. The background is a gradient of light to dark gray, giving the composition a minimalist and modern aesthetic. The image may be used metaphorically to represent concepts such as security, access, privacy, or the unlocking of new ideas.”
I wouldn’t use all of that, but it helps me quickly see what I can and perhaps should say for a person with vision difficulties.
