I’ve spent time in the South and have seen racism. I wish I could say I haven’t seen it in New England, but it’s here. Like another commentator here, it makes me angry, but a lot of that is anger at my impotence.

I’ve been told to ignore it because that one doesn’t know any better and is just a product of his times, he’s really a nice person, just ignore that. Sigh. He’s not a nice person and everyone willing to ignore it just enables it from others. But if I don’t let it go, then I’m a problem, a troublemaker. I can’t win, so I just avoid all of them, but that’s not helping either.

Guilt, anger, impotence. I’m sure POC must feel that too at times.
