Locking Down Security Settings in IOS

The App Privacy Report and what (if anything) to do with it

Have you ever looked at the App Privacy Report in your iPad or iPhone? You might not know that there is such a thing, as it only came out recently in IOS 15.2. Unless you regularly read tech news, listen to tech podcasts, or nosily paw through your Settings with every upgrade to see what’s changed, you have no reason to kick yourself for missing this.

There’s also a little gotcha: Apple seems to think that gathering the data for this report is a privacy issue itself, so your device won’t even have this report until you turn it on in Settings->Privacy- >App Privacy Report. And even when you have turned it on, you have to wait for it to collect data from your apps. Until you use your apps, the report is quite boring.

Realize also that this report is per device. Your iPhone has its own report, your iPad has its own, if you have four other iPhones each of them has their own report.

Your Apple computer, however, has no such thing at this writing. I expect it will someday, but now you only get the Safari report:
