Me and My Medicine Ball
A fun way to get a little workout
I’m not an exercise fanatic. People who take their exercise seriously would laugh at any suggestion that I am.
If No Pain, No Gain is true, I’m opting for No Gain.
I just want health
I only want to maintain a reasonable level of fitness for my 73 years. I walked 20 minutes yesterday at a 14 minute and 15 second pace; that won’t get me any fitness awards but science says I’ll probably live longer.
That’s all I want. Enough to keep me healthy.
Mostly boring
I do boring exercises. It’s mostly the same thing every day: a minimum 20-minute walk whenever the weather allows and perhaps some pushups and pullups. I have hand weights and squeeze balls and exercise bands that I might mix in a few times a month, but mostly it’s just a brisk, hilly walk.
But when the weather is bad, I need something else to get the blood pumping.
