My paternal grandfather was riddled with cancer. He died when I was very young, but I remember my dad taking me to visit him in the hospital. I do not think I had ever met him before that because my father introduced us.

My father’s sister told me decades later that his doctor had put him on a complete vegetarian diet and that he was cancer free when he died in 1953. I have no way of knowing if that was true, but if anyone knew, my aunt should have.

We seldom eat meat and when we do, it is a small amount of fish or chicken once or twice a month. I’d like to eat even less.
