My sisters are long distance. One is unquestionably so and our ages and unwillingness to travel make the other just as remote effectively.

We keep in touch with a weekly phone call, but also every day I text them something. It doesn't matter what, just something that serves as a signal "I am alive, are you?"

I might send them a coffee tomorrow :)
