My wife and I will celebrate our 53rd anniversary this summer.

Our money has always been merged. For the first five years, I did the budget and she paid the bills. Then for twenty years or so, she did both. Then we switched to all bills on autopay and I took back the budget.

We’ve had fights about just about everything, but never money. When we were young, money was tight. And then for many years, we had more than we needed. Now we are retired and have to be careful again.
