Never say never.

I have a long time friend here who was about to give up. I convinced her to at least leave her account active even if she stopped writing.

One month later her earnings jumped and have stayed high enough to pay what she needs to survive.

A month after that my earnings spiked. I'm comfortably retired, so that's all just extra, but it has kept plugging along at a decent rate.
