New Medium Writers: Don’t Trust What You Read
There are many not so old posts here giving incorrect information.
If you are new to Medium, you probably have read many posts about the mechanics of writing on Medium, how you make money, and how to promote your posts.
You should not trust them.
The one and only pace you should trust is the Help sections at Medium
The link should be easy enough to find, though understand this: it might be different for you and it may have changed since I wrote this.
So when I tell you that you can’t blindly trust what other people tell you about Medium, that includes me. Don’t trust this article either!
Go to the Medium Help and read ALL OF IT. If you don’t understand something or are not sure, ASK THEM. They respond to support tickets very quickly. Don’t guess, ASK.
I have found some very incorrect advice from very respected authors here. It’s not that these authors are fools. The advice they wrote was accurate when they wrote it, but the rules have changed since then and they have not updated their articles. They may have written something newer, but you won’t necessarily know that.
