No, not necessarily. In my business, income varied, usually peaking in the Fall months, though not always. If I had a high profit year one year, the next might not be. My profit wasn’t greed, it was common sense.

At one time, I sold products in addition to doing troubleshooting and consulting. When you sell either products or services you need to build in sufficient profit to cover losses - customers who don’t pay, products that are returned, are defective, services that couldn’t be completed successfully. Again, that’s not greed, just necessary practice.

Profit is not evil.
